[/quote]those believing otherwise are people who has no basic concept of economics or are into the trade for too long and cannot see the bigger picture.  It is IMPOSSIBLE for wine to be uneffected by the credit crunch as either a luxurious good or an investment stock.    A new wine shop are selling Lafite 2005 for $8600 only - something which I expect and has vigourously debated with some brothers here not so long ago.

Again.  I AM CORRECT! :P

I'm not sure if you are referring to my view, if you read my previous post correctly I meant for "long term", there is nothing in the world as any form of investment tool that can guarantee positive return at any given moment. always remember "anything goes up comes down", at this point I still insist top notch fine wine prices will hit new record high when the economy turns the other way round.
by the way I don't invest in wine but I collect and enjoy them.

[/quote]brother, if the world does not come to its end in the next 100 years, I am sure almost anything you buy now would appreciate in the long term :D

I received quite a good offer from London last month for 2005' the top 3 first growth at around GBP7000 and I did not take, reason being I may be able to see them in their best shape but I'm sure you are in a much better position so yes perhaps you should start to hunt around, cheers !

We may live long enough for the wine to reach its peak, but our liver may not!:smile_13:

I know too many people that have to quit drinking because of health problem.  Wines that need >10 years to approach its peak probably account for less than 5% of my portfolio.  BTW, I don't have any 2005 GCC as well.

According to UK guideline, it is 21 units per week for man, and 14 units for woman.  (1 unit equals 10ml of pure alcohol)  So it is about 2 bottles at 14% abv for man per week.  Binge drinking (drinking a lot within a short period) is not good.

However, following this guideline does not guarantee you it is safe.  There are also other factors that affect your health (e.g. Hepatitis):smile_45:

[/quote]Many thanks brother....I drink only on Friday or/and Saturday and usually a bottle sharing among 2 persons or 2 bottles with 4 persons...I guess this is not too much right?
